We all know that the U.S. is getting older. But how much older is a little shocking. All of the Baby Boomer generation will be over 65 by 2029. Twenty percent of the population will be senior citizens. Perhaps more importantly, we’re living longer: by 2035 the number of people over 85 will double. Jamala Rogers wrote a very good review of the book “The Age of Dignity: Preparing for the Elder Boom in a Changing America” by Ai-Jen Poo. It takes a good look at how our changing demographic is impacting the nation.
