There has been much debate on the issue, ever since the Social Security Administration announced no COLA (Cost of Living Adjustment) for 2016. The latest entrant into the fray is Elizabeth Warren (D — MA). She’s proposing to send $580 to every senior citizen and disabled veteran in America. The previous ideas of switch the COLA to CPI-E would only have represented a 0.6% increase for 2016, and this plan is a 3.9% increase on average. More details are at the Huffington Post.
