State of Health Worse for Rural Elderly

A HealthDay News special report yesterday hit on many key topics we’ve frequently written about — for example, the dangers of chronic disease, and the associated problems with over-medication. But they took an interesting perspective, based on original research from the Journal of Rural Health. Seniors in rural areas face the same challenges as their urban brethren, but these can be exacerbated by lack of specialist care, and poor public transportation, to name just a few items.
