With tax day upon us, this may not be too much of a concern until next year, but it’s certainly worth sharing. The Internal Revenue Service is warning of a phone scam that has bilked more than 5,000 victims since 2013. The calls initiate from a fictitious IRS call center, where the “agent” works to convince the victim to wire money to stay out of trouble. There’s more information on NPR’s site, here.
