As the whole country enters “tax season”, there are bound to be those individuals who see it as an opportunity for a scam. Anna Meiler reports on one such fraud that is hitting the D.C. area as I write this. In this particular instantiation, someone calls claiming to be from the Treasurer’s Office, and makes threats of arrest! Although right now it seems to be confined to the Washington area, it seems likely that we’ll see more such scams before April 15th, so stay vigilant!
